If you would prefer I bring the sawmill to you so you can watch or assist in the milling process, this is also a service I offer. I can travel anywhere within Fremont County or surrounding areas. This is a great way to avoid hauling logs, boards, and waste back and forth.
Services include:
Preparation of logs
Alignment of the mill
Milling process
Stacking and stickering of lumber if desired
Cleanup of sawdust and removal of waste if desired
Before I arrive on your property it is easiest if:
The logs are free of branches, stobs (half-cut branches), mud and dirt
The milling site is flat and preferably level
There is plenty of room to move equipment and trucks around
If you choose to assist I ask that you sign a release of liability form, and that you wear proper personal protective equipment. It is helpful if you have some type of equipment to assist in moving logs and boards.
Rates vary based on the desired outcome of the product.
Give me a call to discuss more of what portable saw-milling will look like for you.
Rough Cut- Once the lumber comes off the mill I load it directly into your truck or trailer, no drying process is taken on my side.
Air Dried- Depending on the species and thickness, this may take anywhere from a few weeks to over a year.
Kiln Dried- This is an excellent way to lower moisture content levels to woodworking/indoor use standards, as well as kill bugs that may be within the wood. I operate a solar kiln which can dry between 1500-2000 board feet in one batch, in between 2-6 weeks depending on species, thickness, and time of year.
